IGA FOODLAND FOOD AND WINE DAY

The XXXX Gold Alice Springs Cup Carnival Cup Carnival gets underway with a bang on April 10 - get amongst the action on IGA Foodland Food & Wine Day.

The Club is working with IGA to really grow this day and looks forward to presenting some great food and wine tastings on the day.

SATURDAY 17 APRIL 2010:

YOUNG GUNS DAY

The second day of the Cup Carnival is a day when the action on the track possibly plays a secondary role to the entertainment off it - it's Young Guns Day - one of the most anticipated social occasions of the year!

The crowd of mainly 18 - 35 yo's (although there are always a few older revellers who try to mix it with their younger counterparts!) will make the usual beeline to Pioneer Park to party the afternoon and early evening away in the Young Guns Marquee.

SATURDAY 24 APRIL 2010:

LADIES DAY

Ladies Day, the third day of the Cup Carnival and one of the real highlights of the whole racing year, this year promises to be bigger and better!

The day dedicated to the fairer sex is always well attended and the attire simply has to be seen to be believed. Alice Springs Ladies know how to dress and enjoy themselves and obviously with a crowd of well-dressed Ladies, come a significant number of men!

FRIDAY 30 APRIL 2010:

XXXX GOLD CUP LUNCHEON

This luncheon will be one of the highlights of the Cup Weekend.This year, the barrier draw for the XXXX Gold Alice Springs Cup will be an attraction at the luncheon, the yearling raffle will be drawn and there will be an auction of sporting memorabilia. The Club in association with the Alice  Springs Convention Centre are currently working on the VIP special guests  - Watch this space for more details soon.

SATURDAY 1 MAY 2010:

KIDS DAY OUT

The Turf Club is currently working on some fantastic ideas and initiatives for the Kids Day out in 2010. With a bigger focus on the younger racegoers the Club is looking at even more entertainment, giveaways and plenty of fun. Stay tuned for details in the future as they are confirmed.

The fourth day of the Carnival, like all the others, is one not to be missed, especially as far as the kids are concerned!

Planning is already underway for the 2010 Cup Ball. On what must be THE Ball of the year for Alice this one will be no exception.  After the excitement of the Singing Waiter, one of the best Fireworks displays seen in the Alice, and a superb location, the team is working hard to come up with new and exciting ideas for next years ball.

Think you know the winner of the Cup? Then don’t miss the Cup Calcutta on Sunday arvo. This is always a good time to catch up with friends, have a beer or two and put your money where your mouth is as far as the Cup is concerned. Tickets will be on sale a few weeks before the Calcutta, and you have to be in to win!

MONDAY 3 MAY 2010:

XXXX GOLD ALICE SPRINGS CUP DAY

The 2010 XXXX Gold Alice Springs Cup Carnival culminates on the first Monday in May (May 3) with the running of the race all Territorians – and several interstaters – want to win the XXXX Gold Alice Springs Cup.

The culmination of month's of planning and many hours of work - for all facets of the racing industry - takes place at approximately 5.10pm on Monday, May 3, 2010, when the  XXXX Gold Alice Springs Cup is run.

 It is the race that all Territorians want to win, and judged on the participation in recent years of a good number of interstate visitors, it is an event that is becoming more keenly sought by out-of-towners too!

Cup Day is THE day in the Red Centre as far as racing and entertainment is concerned. The eight races on the day climax with the running of the 2000m feature, and a crowd of well in excess of 2,000 will be on hand to cheer their fancies home.

 It is the day of days in the Red Centre, if you are into racing or not. So make Pioneer Park your venue of choice on Monday, May 3.
