Increases to Prize Money
Following on in July once ratified by the TRNT board these increases will remain resulting in a minimum prizemoney level that we are racing for in Alice Springs $16,000!
This is part of a raft of increases announced by TRNT for NT racing including Darwin, Tennant Creek and Adelaide River. The allocation across the board rather than for targeted carnival races, allows for a more equitable and even spread to benefit local trainers, owners and participants.
These increases are immediate and will be the start and catalyst of some exciting ownership initiatives and recruitment of new trainers to be led by our CEO Jason Cornell.
Also this announcement is a particular boon for our upcoming Inglis Red Centre Yearling sale on Friday April 28th. This should be a great vote of confidence for investors in thoroughbreds at our sale and even further enticement for existing and new owners to race in Alice Springs and the Northern Territory.
In another vote of confidence Inglis have resigned as a sponsor of our sale and 2yo racing in Alice Springs for 5 years, this will be announced tonight at the Owners Information night held at the ASTC with senior bloodstock auctioneer from Inglis, Peter Heagney in attendance.
TRNT also approved a proposal from the ASTC board for an increase of stakes money to celebrate the 40th Anniversary Cup which will be now run on June 18th for $25,000.
2017 has certainly started very positively for racing in Alice Springs following on from our new naming rights sponsor Ladbrokes.
I therefore welcome you all to racing at Ladbrokes Pioneer Park and encourage you to refer your friends and colleges as new members of the ASTC, who might share your passion for thoroughbreds and look to become an owner in this wonderful sport and industry.
Yours in racing,
